Default Incompatible peripherals and accessories

I'm only ranting here about what I think Verizon can do better, not for encouraging people to move away from Verizon.

Last time I upgraded from Audiovox to another Audiovox phone, I had to purchase a whole new set of accessories (car chagers, etc.) Even when I upgraded to my latest LG phone, I had to buy another set and not compatible with my wife's other LG phone.

In Korea, all phones, regardless of brand and carriers all support standard 24-pin connector. It makes it easy for people to have access to a charger when your battery is running low. Some public places offer free charging station because everybody's phones can be plug into the same connector.

In Verizon's case, it's not an oversight, but a requirement from their accessory group that the interface be different on all phones, just so they can sell new set of accessories whenever people change their phone.

Call them greedy, or call the genius.

From consumer point of view, I would like to have one charger for all the Verizon phones in my household and not have to get a new one whenever I upgrade my phones.
