Default Resolving Windows Device Manager conflicts - Samsung Gleam (SCH-u700)

Resolving Windows Device Manager conflicts - Verizon Wireless Gleam (SCH-u700) Windows 2000 / XP
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
Windows Vista
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
The following devices are normally installed:
ModemsSamsung CDMA ModemPorts (COM & LPT)Samsung CDMA Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM) (COMx)Universal Serial Bus controllersSamsung USB Composite Device
If a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.
If a conflict is present:
  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing USB drivers - Windows or Installing VCAST Music Essentials Kit for further assistance.
    If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver.
    If using Windows Vista, right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    The device name may vary from the example given but the process is the same.
  3. If presented, select No, not this time then click Next.
  4. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
    If using Windows Vista, click Browse my computer for driver software.
  5. If available, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected then enter C:\Program Files\Samsung\Drivers 4.24 into the search window then click Next.
    The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
  6. Click Finish.
    If using Windows Vista, click Close.
