Can I play ripped songs on my phone? Unprotected music you rip from your own CDs in WMA format can be played on your phone. If the music was ripped in MP3 format, it will be converted to WMA format, if necessary, when synced to the phone using the appropriate USB cable and drivers. When ripping, please ensure that you set the protection properly.
On V CAST Music phones with Version 01.02.000 or higher software such as the Chocolate by LG, you can “sideload” unprotected MP3 files to the MY_MUSIC folder of your memory card. (To format the memory card, turn on your phone, insert the card into the phone and then remove it. Save your music to the MY_MUSIC folder.) Note: only unprotected MP3 files can be played after being sideloaded. Protected MP3 files must be transferred using the sync function in order to be played on the phone.
