If you never messed with it, just take it to Verizon store to get the latest firmware. It's the easiest and safest thing to do.

Otherwise, you'll have to get a USB cable, proper drivers, some hacking software to change the firmware, and that's assuming you have the right firmware to begin with. And if you mess it up and can't get back to normal, Verizon wouldn't even touch your phone if they know you've tried to hack it.
