Default mp3 playback software lg 8300

The software provided by the phone is not adequate for playing back audio books that may have large tracks.

Major problem is "rewind". If distracted for whatever reason and I want to rewind by seconds or minutes, the provided sofware will go back to the beginning of the track which could be up to an hour back.

Is there any downloadable software (I am willing to pay) that will manage my audiobooks files better than that?

Thanks
Bakern

That is a drag when you don't have a way to control the audio file except to start from the very beginning.

On my iPod nano, you can press the center button, then scroll the pointer to any section of the song and start from anywhere.

Not sure if a simple MP3 player like these phones have such fancy feature. Some car stereos don't even offer a way to fast forward or reverse.

You don't need any special software to transfer songs.

Basically, if you have the external memory, you put the songs on there from your PC/Laptop. (in the designated folder, which is created just by putting the external memory in your LG phone)

What the original poster is saying is - you cannot fast forward or reverse in the middle of the song to another location of a song. You can only start from the beginning or skip to the next song.

Yes, it is a drag that you can't fast forward or reverse.

Still, a phone that can play mp3 songs is more than I imagined what a phone can do several years ago.

they are constantly improving the technology. the 8300 is better than the 8100 and the 8600 is better than both. You will soon have an mp3 player that makes calls instead of a phone that plays music.

either use the music essential kit or memory card to transfer music. keep in mind that unless you go into the programmers menu listed in the tips section to unlock mp3's or have the latest sofware on the 8300 you will only be able to play wma music.

Thanks for the imput. I have no problem playing the mp3 files on my lg 8300 phone. My problem is that I listen to audio books on my mp3 player and would like to do so on my lg8300. The problem with the 8300 playback software is that I cannot "rewind" a portion of the track, only the whole track. With audio books a track could be a full 40-45 minutes.

I am hoping that there is some software (I'm even willing to pay for it) that can be loaded into the lg8300 that would allow for better "rewind" flexibility.

OK, I found a piece of software that will join all the audio book files and then re split them to 5 minute segments. I can live with this. Then I set the lg8300 to play mp3s and that is working just fine.

Now here comes the hard part. If I leave the playback on pause, it eats up battery life. If I shut down the playback, and return to playing back, I have to either start from the beginning of the book or find the track I was listening to when I shut down.

Is there some option to remember the last track listened to after stopping the mp3 player and then restarting.

Thanks to all the responders here for getting me so close to a total solution to my problem.
