lost outlook calendar items during sync

I'm a newbie with the blackberry, and have an issue I am hoping someone can help with. I have my work MS Outlook exchange server emails, contacts and calendar items sent to my 8830. I recently sync outlook with the BB, and discovered any calendar items older that 60 days disappeared from my Outlook calendar. both the Outlook calendar and the BB calendar had the same items, but i don't understand why anything older than 60 days disappeared from both. I don't mind only 60 prior days on the BB, but I really need to retain the appointments that are in outlook.

help, please.
