Ras error 691 and error qa 920 (Username/Password Error)! try this,
Open VZAccess Manager and press Ctrl+T, a terminal window should pop up
type in: AT$QCMIPEP=1 hit enter and type in AT$QCMIP=1 and hit enter. It should say OK after each one. Press Alt+F4 to close the terminal window. Try connecting again. This is not gauranteed to work if the username/password error is severe. You must upgrade to the latest version of VZAccess Manager and try again. If your still getting the username and password error after the upgrade and "AT Commands", call Verizon for further assistance and a possible escalation.
Error QA 913!,
Go to tools>preferences and check NDIS mode. It is going to say it doesn't work on a prepaied account just hit yes and ok. There is a possiblity you will get connected with NDIS mode but it is an "always on" connection so you might get charged for data on your account if you stay connected and go over your 5 GB limit. If still not working, you must upgrade to the latest version of VZAccess Manager.
Check RSSI, go to help>about VZAccess Manager. RSSI is under hardware information. If device is not available, run set up wizard in options, choose WWAN Only and PC Cards, run through the wizard and run activation under options. You must be in Broadband Coverage to activate your PC card.

PC Card is not detected!
If you are on a laptop, try a usb refresh. Go to device manager and uninstall all usb root hubs in Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Make sure it is only for the "usb root hubs" then restart your computer. Open up VZAccess Manager and run wizard under options. Choose WWAN Only and PC Cards then insert your card. If it is still not detecting your PC Card, try to unistall/reinstall drivers. Go to control panel and uninstall the drivers for that PC Card. It may say, "Pantech, Sierra Wireless, or Novetel" for the drivers. Uninstall the drivers and go to C:\Program Files\Verizon Wireless\VZAM or VZAccess Manager\Drivers and look for the drivers. It may say the name of your PC Card, Novatel, Pantech, Or Sierra Wireless. It will be an .exe file. Double click on it and install the drivers from that directory. Once the drivers are reinstalled, go back to VZAccess Manager and run wizard under options. Chooose WWAN Only and PC Cards. Hopefully, it will detect it this time. If you have a UM150 or UM175, make sure the window in the middle of card is slip all the way up so there are at least 2 lights on the card. 1 light means it is in "mass storage mode" and it will not be picked up by VZAccess Manager detection process. If it still doesn't work, call 1(800)922-0204 and choose tech support. If there are no lights on the card, it may be a defective device. Try other computers to see if it is the device or the computer.
NOTE: After you get your pc card detected and set up on the wizard, run activation under options. You must be in broadband coverage to activate your card. To see if you are in a broadband coverage area, go to
Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, Cell Phone Accessories - Verizon Wireless and check for vzw maps.

Connected but no web pages are displayed! Internet explorer says, "web page cannot be displayed" but you are able to connect!
For XP, start>run>type in "cmd", a command prompt should pop up. For Vista, start>all programs>accessories>right click on command prompt and run as admin, a command prompt should pop up. Type in "ipconfig /flushdns" hit enter. It should say, "successfuly flushed the dns resolver cache." Then, type "netsh winsock reset all" and hit enter. It should say, "successfuly reset the winsock catalog." Close out of you command prompt by typing "exit" and hit enter or click on the 'x" at the upper right corner. Restart your computer. Try connecting and browsing the web again. If it still doesn't work, check your antivirus or internet security software and firewall settings because it may be blocking your data connections. Also, make sure "work offline" is not checked on your Internet Browser by going to File for IE6 and below or tools for IE7 and up. Then, make sure "never dial a connection" is checked in your Internet Explorer by going to tools>internet options>connections tab.
Good luck!
Please post on this thread if it works or does not work. There is no harm to be done on your computer unless you do it incorrectly but it is pretty much easily understood. Call Verizon tech support for further assistance if you are unsure of what to do on your own. Thanks...
