Default Qualcomm announces Taiwan MediaFLO trial

Wireless solutions provider Qualcomm announced it will team with China Network Systems and Taiwan Television Enterprise for a technical trial of its MediaFLO mobile TV platform, which last week launched commercially in the U.S. via Verizon Wireless. The trial, expected to begin this month, will include four live channels spotlighting CNS content and up to three live channels featuring TTV programming. "We see the trial as an excellent opportunity to expand our MediaFLO business development efforts in Asia," Qualcomm Internet Services and MediaFLO president Peggy Johnson said in a prepared statement. "Taiwan is one of the key markets in the region, with 84 percent pay TV penetration."
