Angry Phone exchange/revision of contract New every 2

I just recently found out by looking at my account online, that my new every 2 option was bumped up a year because they swapped my crappy POS Krzr for an LG8700. I'm not griping about the LG. I LOVE it. The problem is not being notified about extending my date out for the new every 2 and not being given a choice of phones. If that had been the case, I would have went with the Voyager at the time or something else, had I known it meant extending a contract. Now I have to wait until late 2009 for my discount.

Just wanted everyone to be aware of this other little grab you by the balls trick that Verizon has.

They should've told you about it at the time when you exchanged for LG....

That's what I said. I told the rep on the phone when he explained to me why the date was extended online. He was supposed to have someone call back, but I'm not holding my breathe. Verizons customer service has begun to head downhill with me lately. Especially in-store.

So now it's a "New Every 3" deal?

I'm curious, can you still just wait one year and then pay the $20 fee?

It's still every 2 years to got a new phone at discount price plus $50 or $100 credit (depends on your monthly bill). After more than a year, they'll let you upgrade to new phone at discount price without the credit, but your new 2 year contract starts all over again.
