Unhappy Imagio not recognized by Windows Mobile Device Center

I upgraded from a 5-year old Treo 700 to an Imagio lat night. I sync my Treo with my laptop running Vista using Windows Mobile Device Center.

The Imagio is not being recognized by Windows Mobile Device Center. I installed (in place) Windows Mobile Device Center over the existing version and have re-booted the laptop twice. Windows Mobile Device Center still does not recognize a device when I try to establish a connection. It still recognize the Treo and connect to it. I even removed the Treo connection, then established a new connection for the Treo.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center, then do a clean of Windows Mobile Device Center for it to recognize the Imagio?

Thank you in advance for any and all help and suggestions.

Bob

Red face Problem Solved

Problem Solved! I found this information on page 70 of the HTC Imagio User Manual. These steps are performed on the Imagio.

[b]Troubleshooting sync connection problem

In some cases, when the computer connects to the Internet or a local network, it may disconnect the connection with your phone in favor of the Internet or network connection.

If this happens, tap Start > Settings, and then tap All Settings. Tap Connections > USB to PC, then clear the Enable faster data synchronization check box.

This makes your computer utilize a serial USB connection with your phone.
