How to replace cracked outer screen?

My screen is cracked and a friend offered me his unit that failed due to getting wet. the half with the screen didn't get wet, but the phone is fried anyway and he didn't have insurance.

So how hard would it be to transfer his good screen into my unit?

I'm looking at my enV Touch and I don't see an easy way to remove the screen. There must be ways I'm sure but can't provide any tips. Sorry. I wonder if Verizon or LG customer service may be able to do something for a fee.
