Unlock code

Question I have a LG ENV orange and I was wondering when you lock your phone the passcode is the last 4 of your phone number but if you change your code to one of your own secret numbers is there still a code that you can put in that is like a universal unlock code, so like if I forget my code I put on my phone and then locked my phone is there a universal number to put in to unlock it?

I believe if you change it you must remember it or have it reset by a tech. Atleast this is what I've been told.

If you do an update on your phone it will reset the lock code to the last four of your number. *228 send option 2

Okay so listen to this I also have a forgotten unlock code and i tried to *228 (the fun part...explaining) I dropped my phone in the water and got it out immediately and dried it off. It started to work in a day the only problem is my speakers cant work,and i need to reset my unlock phone bc my idiot friend reset it and cant remember the code... so would someone please help me or tell me what buttons to press when u call *228 and at what time to press them or just help me thanx

*228 updates the PRL. Not sure how it will help with unlock code or the speaker phone not working.
