Default How to install ringtones on env2

Hello,

I've looked around here with no luck. My wife and I just purchased new env2 phones and the music essentials kit. However, we have no idea how to move our existing mp3 files to our phones. Also, I got an mp3 file to my wife's phone, but we cannot figure out how to make it a ringtone.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Jim

If you have music essential kit, you can easily move the mp3 songs to either your phone internal memory or to your external card. The place where your mp3 player plays the mp3 songs is NOT the place where your ringtones are.

You may want to use bitpim program, which works well with LG phones, to put the mp3 file that you want to use as ringtone (make sure the file is not too big and not too long) and put it in the proper place. (You'll know where since this is the location where you'll find your default ringtones that came with the phone)

Admin,

Thanks for your reply. However, I need a much more precise answer.

I have bitpim. All I accomplished using this program was successfully erasing all my wife's contacts (thank goodness for backup assistant!). I went to their site and read through the help materials and the screens they said I would see I did not see. And I did have the latest version.

Our phones did not come with pre-loaded mp3's. They did come with the generic ringers. I have no clue how to move a file from my computer to my phone using the music essentials kit.

I appreciate your help -- but I need more clear help please!

I'm not sure how precise I can get..

On the music essential kit, which almost works like the Windows Media Player, can scan your HD for all the music files and puts them into your library or "Music On My PC". If you don't have any, push the button that says "Add music" on bottom left.

Once you have your music from you PC all sorted out, you create a playlist, add the songs you want to the playlist, and sync the list.

BitPim does not presently support this phone yet but I am sure it will be forthcoming.

I use the website phonezoo.com. It's free and easy. You just upload whatever song you want to use as a ringer, select up to 30 seconds of that song, and text it to your phone. It is ridiculously easy!!
