Iam trying this my lg vx9900 I hope it works as you say it does since evdo isnt available in y area and me and my wife can kill our batts in a day without much trouble. I will post in a couple das and let you all know.

Any word on how to do this with the Venus? The menu select is on the touch screen and I've tried doing menu+0 and it didnt work, just took me to the next screen. Any ideas??

It works on my LG VX8600. Now the antenna is only showing 1x. Before it used to show both 1x and EV.
