Default How to put your videos on LG Voyager

The following is how to put video on your Voyager
  • The easiest way to do this is to load videos onto the sd card for the phone using an SD card reader.
  • After the SD card is formatted in the phone, video files should be put in the "my_flix" folder
Use S.u.p.e.r. to encode

Default

also can use bitpim n usb cable to transfer vids to n from cell onto pc

Video

As of 12/3/2007 BitPim will not correctly add video to the LG Voyager via the Media tab, so it must be done manually through the filesystem. To add video to the LG Voyager first convert it to the .3g2 format with a transcoder. SUPER(tm) does this on windows XP and a current version can be found on the Afterdawn Forums. Navigate to the Video folder in the Voyager's filesystem, then drag and drop the .3g2 file into the right pane. After the transfer is complete the phone will have to be turned off then back on for the video to show up in the My Videos section of the phone.

Also if you have Quicktime Pro you can convert videos for your phone! Just get Quicktime Pro (Thats up to you!)

Now once that's installed on you computer
load the compatible video you would like to convert into quicktime pro.

Now Choose File -> Export
Choose where to save the output of the converted file then set the conversion parrameters
For export choose: Movie to 3G
For Use: 3GPP2 - Release A
Now Click Save
and you will have your converted file for your phone.

This seemed pretty easy so I encoded a .avi file to 3G2 and went to copy it to my micro SD card and realized there is no video folder in either storage location (built in or SD card). So I just copied the file over to the SD card, restarted the voyager, but the video was not found when trying to view it.

Next I shot a couple of short videos with the phone and then went into the file system trying to find where they were stored, and they are no where to be found. But you can still select and play them in the phone itself. I checked both storage locations.

Then I just made a my_flix folder and copied the movie into that to see if that would work and when I restarted the phone, the my_flix folder was deleted off the phone along with the file I had copied into it.

Sounded so easy too....

Default Another way

Nevermind. Just found out you can go into the Tools settings on the phone, change the phone to a USB device and drag and drop pics, music, videos right into the folders which ARE displayed once you set the device to USB.

From http://cellphoneforums.net

"Making use of USB Mass Storage Mode to directly work with files stored on an inserted MicroSD card.
NOTE: this only works if you have a MicroSD card inserted in the phone.
Connect the USB cable that comes with phone...
On the phone... Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Tools -> USB Mass Storage...
This causes the phone to be identified as like a "USB Card reader".. and the inserted card to show as a Drive letter... You can then drag/drop files the into the My_PIX, My_Sounds, My_Music, My_Flix folders on a microSD card inserted in the phone.. or copy files back to the PC.
Use the key on the Voyager to exit mass storage mode and return to normal when you are finished.
Note: while in USB Mass Storage Mode, the phone will not be able to send/receive calls, messages, etc...
Note: because the phone now looks like a USB Card Reader with inserted memory card, you may access and manipulate it just like any other "flash drive"... store what ever files you want.. open or delete them too. All right from the card.

NOTE: this will NOT work to access the phone's internal memory. It only works to access a MicroSD card inserted in the phone."

I just encoded the movie In Bruges - which did not take that long - and it reduced the size to 112mb (from 600mb) and it plays on the phone just fine
