Default Can you disable Mobile TV?

Greetings! I'm new to the forum and have only had my LG Voyager for a couple of weeks. I'm very pleased with the phone's features - but one feature I don't need is mobile TV.

I've noticed the battery life is less than stellar and I've taken the usual measures to reduce battery drain: short backlight timeouts, GPS set to E911, Bluetooth is off, vibrate usually off, etc.

Now it seems to me that since mobile TV is on a different frequency from voice and text, there must be a second receiver in the phone that's running all the time, looking for the mobile TV signal. I see the TV signal icon change with my location.

I'm guessing that TV receiver puts some drain on the battery and I'd like to turn it off. Anybody know how???

I hadn't realized that Voyager also supports Mobile TV. Good to know.

Yes, the TV signals are in 700Mhz, while the voice/data are in either 800Mhz or 1900Mhz, so there is a separate receiver for TV. If you are not watching TV, I'm surprise that they would even turn the TV on at all, unless they are downloading programs "offline" while you are not watching the TV.

I have to assume there has to be a way to turn it off if you have no intention of using it.

Have you searched through the user manual?

I've been through the user manual. All it tells you is how to activate a subscription.

I have to say I'm assuming the receiver is on since I see the little TV icon change to show me when the signal is/isn't present.

What kind of battery life are you getting?

I was having to charge it every night when I first got it.

Now I seem to be getting 2 days with light use. I think the way I was first carrying it might have caused the volume buttons on the side to be pressed which turns on the external screen. The Verizon case doesn't protect the side buttons.

I'll give it a few weeks and post a better estimate of battery life.
