Default Voice Dialing With Send/End Button on Headset

I am shopping for a new phone and have been trying them out at the Verizon Store. One question I have about the LG VX5400 (and the VX8350 and VX8700) is if there is any way to get my headset on/off (send/end) button to initiate voice commands instead of having it redial the last number? On the Motorola and Samsung phones, the Send/End button on my favorite headset activates voice dialing like it did on my previous phone (Motorola E815), but this time I am leaning toward an LG phone...except for this one crucial spec. Without it, I can't really drive "hands-free" because I have to grab the phone to press the voice command button. I'd like to just do that with the headset button. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
P.S. Yes, I am new to the Forum. I am a Verizon customer and currently using my husband's RAZR V3m because I dropped my Motorola e815 one too many times yesterday and it has ceased to function.

Smile Press & Hold Send/End Button to Activate Voice Dialing...

Found the answer to my own question in an old Amazon review of an un-named cell phone, probably the e815. Crazy! Anyway, it read that you activate voice dialing with a click and redialing by holding the button. With the LG phones (at least the vx8350), it's just the opposite. Using a Plantronics MX510-X1 headset, if you press and hold the send/end button, it initiates voice commands. If you just press and release the send/end button, it redials the last dialed number. Cool! Going tomorrow to buy a VX5400 and I am so excited. It has been an arduous search for a new phone....and how ironic that I end up liking the "low end" model the best! I found it the easiest to use as far as the keypad goes and thus far reviewers claim it has excellent reception and call quality. That's the main thing I need in a phone: good reception and call quality. It is, after all, a PHONE!

Glad to hear you've found the answer to your own question.

Good luck with your new phone. Yes, it is the low end phone but it's always best to have the phone that fits you rather than spending the extra money for a phone that has features you don't need and more difficult to use.

I still have a very "simple" LG VX8600 and it suits me fine for now - until I combine it with my PDA => A Smartphone.
