Default Ringtones on LG 8300 Help

I have a new LG 8300 and have followed the posts on how to create my own ringtones. Nothing has worked yet. I tried to use the 000000 and set the phone to allow mp3's but the phone said this feature is not available, I have created ringtones in both wav andmp3 format and am not able tosave them as ringtones.
My question is this. What file extension does the LG 8300 accept and how do I accomplish this? I have downloaded a few different programs to create ringtones but to no avail. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. John

Have you tried .midi format for the ringtone?

And after you created your ringtones, how are you transferring them to your phone?

No I haven't tried midi yet that is my next step, but I need to find a midi convertor. I have been trying to send the files via email to my phones.

I just tried the .midi files on my VX-8600 using BitPim and it works.

I'm not 100% sure whether you can transfer files using BitPim and bluetooth. Maybe it works.

I haven't tried e-mail the .midi files but it should work the same as e-mailing the .mp3 files and saving it as my sound.

I have found success. The problem I was having was in trying to send the mp3 file from my mac to my phone. The mp3 works great and saving it as a ringtones is simple. But I had to transfer it to my pc in order for it to work properly, go figure. Thanks for the help. John

Strange... So, mp3 from Mac is different from mp3 from PC?
