Default microSDHC Limits

I have read on the Internets that if the Verizon firmware in your phone works with/recognizes microSDHC cards, as mine does (LG VX-8350, vx835v02), that the firmware will recognize any size card (e.g. 2gb, 4gb, 8gb, etc.). Someone even said this had been confirmed by a Verizon tech. Is this correct?

More specifically to my situation, even though the vx8350 is specified for microSD of 4gb, will the vx835vo2 firmware recognize an 8gb SDHC card?

If not, is there, or will there be, a firmware upgrade for this phone that will enable use of larger capacity cards?

Thanks for your help.
