Default Uploading animated wallpapers for VX8600

Below is an illustrated tutorial on how to create your own animated flash wallpaper for your spiffy VX8600. You will need the following: Creating Your Wallpaper

To create your animated wallpaper...
  1. Launch Flash and start a new document.
  2. In the property pane on the bottom of the window, click the 'Publish' button.
  3. Change the flash version to Flash Lite 1.1
  4. In the Formats tab make sure that only Flash (.swf) is checked
  5. Click ok
  6. In the bottom pane, click the button labeled "Size"
  7. Set it to following the dimensions:
  8. For this example we want the background color to be white. Change this accordingly.
  9. For this example, we'll be creating a wallpaper out of an existing animated gif. We must first import the animation. Go to: File > Import > Import to Library
  10. Select the file to import.
  11. Locate the Movie Clip in the Library (in the right pane)
  12. Drag the animation onto the main stage
  13. Work on your animation!
  14. Once done, it should look something like this:

See the two lines I've drawn at the bottom? This is a messy hack to allow for me to use the animation on both the main and front screens since they use different aspect ratios. They are actually over the gray of the stage, not the white of the frame.
  15. Click on the publish settings button in the bottom frame.
  16. Click Publish
  17. There should now be an swf file in the same directory as your flash file. This is what we'll be uploading to the phone.
Uploading a wallpaper to your phone

To upload a wallpaper to your phone...
  1. Establish a serial connection with your phone (i.e. pair your computer with the phone or plug in the data cable)
  2. Launch Bitpim
  3. Click on the File system entry in the left pane and navigate to Flash > UI> Wallpaper
  4. If you haven't done so already, backup all of the current wallpapers by right-clicking each one and selecting save.
  5. You must overwrite one of the existing wallpapers.
    • wallpaperType1 - Biker
    • wallpaperType2 - Masterpieces
    • wallpaperType3 - Dandelions
    • wallpaperType4 - Constellations
  6. In Bitpim right-click the wallpaper you want to replace and select Overwrite
  7. Select the wallpaper you made and click Open
Setting your wallpaper

To use your new wallpaper...
  1. Go to OK (menu) > Settings & Tools > Display Settings > Wallpaper
  2. Select the screen you want to assign the wallpaper to (you can use the wallpaper on both simultaneously if you wish)
  3. Select Fun Animations
  4. Select the name of the wallpaper you replaced and hit OK
Congratulations! You have made your own custom flash wallpaper.
