Resolving Windows Device Manager conflicts - Motorola Krave ZN4
Windows 2000 / XP
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
Windows Vista
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
For detailed instructions, refer to Opening Windows Device Manager.
The following devices are normally installed:
Modems Motorola USB Modem Ports (COM & LPT) Motorola USB Diagnostic Port (COM x) Universal Serial Bus controllers Motorola USB Composite Device
If a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.

If a conflict is present:
  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing a Mobile Office / data connectivity kit or Downloading and installing VZAccess Manager - Windows for additional assistance.
    If device drivers are installed and a driver conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
    The device name may vary from the example.
  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
  4. Enter C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\MotPCSDrivers\Drivers in the search field then click Next.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
  5. Click Close.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
