Default Moto Q9M

Hello everyone this is my first post so bare with me. I am looking for a complete understanding about Verizon and smartphones. I want to buy the moto Q9M but i do NOT want to have internet at all. So i have asked tech support four times so far since i get different answers all over the internet about this. I asked can i have the data for the internet blocked completely and keep my same plan with my unlimited messaging? they said sure. I said ok will i still be able to do txt/pix/flix. they stated that i would be able to, they said this all four times. yet some others say blocking data means blocking all that its not seperate. But if i understand this all correctly, MMS/Email/Internet go through the EVDO/G Network and the txt/pix/flix are sent through their cell system. which is how they can block one and not the other. The other way i would begin to understand it is that i know they program a proxy into the phone so that the internet apps know where to go to get the internet and where they can monitor data usage to charge you for it. Cant they just remove that so the internet apps have no idea where to go and can not make a connect if they are accidently pressed? HELP i want/NEED a smartphone for the PDA functions only. thanks guys

My friend was having the exact same problem with Moto Q. He agreed that he didn't want the data service but when he got the bill there were data charges. He had to call back and sort things out but in the end, if they said you can just get the voice plan, you should be OK.

Wow. What a friendly e-mail response from Verizon. I'm hoping their service cost is just as "friendly" to my pocket book.

Yea i wish that too but their unlim data plan is like 29.99 if you dont have a PDA/smartphone plan. My plan is with this phone since i use it mostly when theres wifi, AKA home, work, airports, ill just add the mobile b/g card to it from spectec goes into the mini sd slot for wifi. now that i believe overrides all other access and that is used as the main source of internet. But again i just want it for the keyboard, pda functions, and since its window mobiles verizon cant mess with the SW portion of it so i can put games on it all i want.. maybe when i start to make more a year ill get that plan haha, maybe too when gas goes down. ill be sure to post the reply about the pix.flix messages admin.
