Performing a hard reset - Motorola Q / Q9m

A hard reset is the last resort for troubleshooting. This reset will erase all data and restore preferences to factory default specifications. Performing a hard reset is only recommended when the existing data has been backed up or is unwanted.
If the preferred method is not available, there is an
Alternate Method.
Preferred Method
- From the Today screen, press the left soft key to choose Start.

- Select System Tools then press the center of the 5-way navigation pad.

- Select Master Reset then press the center of the 5-way navigation pad.

- Press the left soft key to choose Yes.

Alternate method

To perform this reset software versions:
Q2-BP_C_06.07.03P (or later) & MP_BSP_C_02.07.38-11P_HW_P2.1(or later) are required. To verify current version, tap
Start>
Settings> More...>
More...>
Phone Settings> Phone Information.
The Motorola Q9m has the appropriate software version. - Power off the device.
- Press and hold the center of the 5-way navigation pad then press the power key.
- Release the center of the 5-way navigation pad when the Master Reset prompt appears.
- Press the left soft key to choose Yes.
