Things I learned about the Razr Maxx Ve

I recently purchased two Razr maxx Ve mobile phones and my intial re-action to this mobile phone is positive. Unfortunately, I got miss information and limited help from both Verizon and Motorola on some of the capabilities of this phone. Let me share with you information on a couple of area's. This phone is not DRM[digitial rights management] compatable with monthy subscription music services like Rhapasody and Urge. If you want to download any songs that are DRM protected you will have to purchase them first on a per song basis, just like you do with VCast. This is contrary to being able to download these songs to a PLAY FOR SURE music player at no additional fee. The next area is picture resolution. If you download pictures from your computer to the phone you may find some of them won't display[resolution problem will be displayed for that picture]. I initially downloaded 19 pictures and only 3 of them displayed. Picture resolution has to be at the same or less than the picture you can take with the phones camera. A solution to this problem is to download Image[photo or picture] re-sizing software and change the resolution. The software is in many case freeware[CNET Downloads]and easy to use. I have some other items but I have to go!

That's a surprise. I thought all the Verizon phones will let you play your own music and put any kind of wallpapers you want.

Music that is DRM[Digital Rights Management] protected can't be downloaded to this phone. Wallpaper can be loaded to this phone but keep in mind since this phone can also have a memory card installed[optional], if you download an image or images you want to use as wallpaper and they are downloaded to the memory card you must transfer them to the internal phone memory[see user manual] to set them as wallpaper. If you don't they won't show up as wallpaper alternatives because they are on the memory card and not the internal memory of the phone.
