How to use a song as ringtone on Motorola RIZR Z6tv

You phone will allow you to use downloaded or transferred music as ringtones. The phone will support ringtones in MP3 or .wav formats. The song will have to be located on your phone, not your memory card.
To move a song from a memory card, and apply as a ringtone:

• Press the Center Select Key
• Scroll to and Select Media Gallery
• Scroll to and Select Sounds
• Press Options
• Scroll to and Select Switch Storage Device
• Scroll to and Select Memory Card
• Scroll to desired file
• Press Options
• Scroll to and Select Copy to Phone

Once the copy is complete:

• Press the Center Select Key
• Scroll to and Select Media Gallery
• Scroll to and Select Sounds
• If necessary, press Options
• Select Switch to Storage Device
• Select Phone
• Scroll to the desired file
• Press Options
• Scroll to and Select Assign as Ringtone

when i open the menu i only see a get it now menu with the option for music and tones. this menu does no have an options area nor does the music player have a "copy to phone memory" option.
is there a way to still play a song as a ringtone?

Just got my z6tv today. I can move the mp3 file from the memory card to the phone, but haven't been able to select it as a ringtone. The mp3 file is 30 sec, 128 kbps. The whole sequence of

* Press the Center Select Key
* Scroll to and Select Media Gallery
* Scroll to and Select Sounds
* If necessary, press Options
* Select Switch to Storage Device
* Select Phone
* Scroll to the desired file
* Press Options
* Scroll to and Select Assign as Ringtone

is not valid. Can you re-address?

Got it to work. Here's how: First you have to get a bluetooth connection working between your computer and your phone. I used Audacity to make about a 30 second snipit of the song, and saved as mp3 file. Then I renamed the mp3 file to a qcp file extention. Then with the BT file transfer, just copied it to the phone. I didn't have to specify which folder in the phone, nor did I have to specify phone memory versus card memory. It just knew where to put the qcp file. On my phone the file showed up as a ringtone.
