Default How to disable EVDO on w755

How to disable Ev-Do on the moto w755.

-Get your phone into test mode. You can do this by entering #0SETUP* on your keypad. numerical value for #0SETUP* is #073887*. You have to enter this code quickly (it might take a few trys) for it to work.

-A security screen will come up with a Enter Code box. The code is 000000.

-In the programming menu scroll down to option 9. Hit ok and Enable test mode. Then exit via the red button on the keypad.

-Now press the CLR button then the top left soft key. It should now display a full white screen that says FTS at the top.

-Press the right soft-key key *3 TIMES* or until you see at the top "ServOpt: NoChg" - "AudioOpt: Auto"

-Press the down key *8 TIMES* or until your see a > next to HDR Pref like so -- >HDR Pref: Auto
Being set to auto means that the phone is looking for both EVDO and 1x reception, and that it will automatically choose EVDO over 1x, should EVDO coverage be available

-Press the right soft-key TWICE labeled CHANGE or until it says >HDR Pref: cdma
This is telling the phone to disregard EVDO coverage and simply look for and connect to 1x coverage.
There is no significant difference in the strength of reception when forcing your phone to look for 1x coverage. You will receive same, if not better reception, in areas where an EVDO connection is weak and essentially giving you poor coverage and poor battery life.

-Press the left soft-key ONCE labeled EXIT and it will flash white real quick, then appear to be frozen...

-Your phone is resetting. You will not be able to press for NEXT or PREV. You have to wait about 5-10 seconds until you CAN press the right or left soft-key for NEXT or PREV. The screens may cycle a couple different screens indicating that its ready.

-Press the CLR button and then press the left soft-key to get out of the programming menu.

-EVDO is officially disabled and capable of being re-enabled. However, test mode is still running in the background and we need to turn it off. We will go back to the programming menu.

-Press #0SETUP* -- QUICKLY -- TO GET BACK TO THE PROGRAMMING MENU and then disable test mode.

this information is taken from various forums/posts. I have semi re-arranged the instructions given from other places to make it easier to understand how to disable EVDO on your moto w755.
