Resolving Windows Device Manager conflicts - Nokia 6205
Windows 2000 / XP
  • Open Device Manager:
    Click Start> (Settings) Control Panel> (Performance and Maintenance) > System> Hardware> Device Manager.
Windows Vista
  • Open Device Manager:
    Click Start> (Settings) Control Panel> (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
For detailed instructions, refer to Opening Windows Device Manager.
The following devices are normally installed:
Modems Nokia 6205 USB Modem Ports (COM & LPT) Nokia 6205 USB Port (COMx) Universal Serial Bus controllers Nokia 6205 USB Phone Device
If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
If a conflict is present:
  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing USB drivers - Windows or Downloading and installing V Cast Music Manager for additional assistance.
    If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
    The device name may differ from the example shown.
  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
  4. Enter C:\Program Files\Nokia\Drivers into the search window then click Next.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
  5. Click Close.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
