Default Family Plan Calls Don't Go Through

Ever since my girlfriend and I started the family plan using our LG VX8300 phones we have had difficulty calling each other.

Calling or receiving calls from any other phones seems to be as normal as any cell phone service. The same can't be said when we call each other. We have about a 50% chance of connecting the other phone.

What usually happens is, the caller hears the phone ring until the end of the 5+ rings then the call goes to voice mail. The phone being called will sometimes signal a new message almost immediately but sometimes it can take an entire day to finally get delivered.

We have taken our phones into the store where we got them. The technicians have performed all the tests they can think of but the problem persists.

If you've experienced the same problem and have found a solution please post it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wow. I've never heard anything like that before.

Have you tried changing to a different phone?

On one occasion a store technician said one of us could change out a phone to see if that would make a difference. Not knowing what the problem is or which phone might be the problem one, we decided to try some tinkering on each phone to see if that would make a difference.

Well, the tinkering hasn't made a difference and we haven't been back to the store again. It's difficult to say if one phone is at fault or not because each one passes all the "usual" tests.

I was hoping that someone else might have experienced something like this and that's why I posted my rant.

If you have two phones that CAN NOT call each other most of the time that is NOT a phone problem that is for sure a NETWORK problem. I would be calling tech support right away.

I would have to agree. From a phone standpoint, all phone numbers should work just as well as the others.

Try pressing *228 send. When you hear the prompt, press ONE to reprogram your phone. Do this with each of them. That's the only solution I can think of...

Like others have said, I feel the problem is likely with the network and not the phones. We have done all the things suggested plus the technicians at the store have tinkered with both phones.

The problem of calls not going through is so random that it makes troubleshooting nearly impossible.
