Default Sub LCD caller ID

On my CDM-9900, one major complain I have is the caller ID. When someone calls, I usually look at the sub-LCD before answering.

The bad thing about CDM-9900 is that it toggles displaying the caller ID and 'Verizon' banner so I have to wait until the caller ID is displayed to know who's calling. All other phones I've had always display just the caller ID and no 'Verizon' banner so I know right away who's calling. Couldn't find anything in the menu to disable the banner.

I don't know if Toshiba (who makes CDM-9900) did this on purpose or Verizon made it a requirement to them. It's good for Verizon promotion but bad for the users.

Doesn't do that on my VX8100. It must have been an Audiovox thing, not a Verizon thing.

Oh well. I should be up for new phone in few days so I guess I can live with "Verizon Wireless" display for a while. Too bad Toshiba stopped making phones for Verizon. My last two phones were both Audiovox phones made by Toshiba and beside the complaint about the sub LCD display, the phones didn't have any problems.
