Default ringtones and user guides...

If you look in your little user guide for this phone...flip on back to pg. 97, it leads you into the "sound settings" menu and down to the ringtone menu...and it says:

2. Press [ 2 ] Call Sounds. Press [ 1 ] Call Ringtone.
- My Ringtones: You can get new ringtones from the web or choose from the list.
- My Sounds: You can record new sounds TO USE or choose from the list.

Okay...so why can't you USE your sounds? It's stuck on the default ones.

Anyone with any ideas? Please?

I thought the same exact thing! I read that manual front to back to find ANYTHING on how to be able to use the ringtones I had sent over to my new phone, FROM the old one.. And that's what they tell you - to do things that aren't possible!

Also on page 85 it says that "while viewing a message" you have an option to "Save as Ringtone: Saves the sound received with the message in My Ringtones", but there is no Save as Ringtone option! >

Someone please help us! The default ringtones on this phone are so obnoxious, lol.

I don't have the Samsung phone but I'm guessing it probably has to do with the format of the ringtone. Although they allow you to use your own sound as ringtone, it has to be the same format as other ringtones.

Is there any option to save the attachment as sound at least? (even if it's not specific as save as ringtone) Once you save the sound, maybe you can select the file as your ringtone from the menu.
