Default a990 is just a PLEASURE

As an Industrial Designer I often judge products on the simple pleasure of living with them rather than facts and figures. Overall this phone has a lot of features and looks good on paper, however I can say without a doubt that this phone brings me more pleasure than any other gadget I own. I LOVE IT! It's just the most fun you can have with a phone. At the end of the day what's really important is your experience with a product. What use is anything if you don't enjoy it?

Good to know. That's a very convincing endoresement for this phone. The price of it hasn't dropped at all since it came out.

Talking A990

I purchased this phone, at 1st I was not so sure that I was going to keep it, but the more I played with it, the more I liked it. Now I love it, I take pictures and video all the time now, and they come out great. The 2 downfalls that I'm not happy with is that is does not play MP3's unless u download them and you can not record any sounds or transfer them or create your own ringtones.

I could just be blonde and have not figured this out yet, so if anyone can share tips with me on how to do this, that would be great!!!!

I think you can create your own ringtones for Samsung a990.

Check here - Make your own ringtones (All Vcast capable Samsungs or Motorolas)

Have you tried e-mailing the MP3 file to your phone? I've found my phone (Kyocera) takes MP3 files this way, but not through Verizon's website. yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com

The email should arrive to your phone in less than a minute and will play if your phone has accepted it.

Question still not working

what do you mean by email it to yourself? and not through the verizon website?
It states in the user guide that you can use mp3's as ringtones and recorded sounds as ringtones. my question is if this phone is locked down by verizon, and the guide is for that phone, with the verizon information on it, then why doesn't it work?

I said to email your phone from your computer, which is different from using the Verizon website.

Default a990

Hello, I was just browsing google looking for info. on a990 price drops and came across this forum, anyways my contract is up also and I spent my entire Chistmas eve day, calling and going to Verizon stores trying to get them to get me out the door for under $250 for the a990, but with no success...I thought from a company point of view they would be willing to do anything to keep a customer, but I was wrong Im thinking T-mobile
