New u740 owner

Only had it just over a week, really like it. I bought a data cable over the net and now need software to get into it. I know Bitpim isn't there yet. Can someone suggest something I can use?

I must confess I don't know how to do that. But, I would need two bluetooth devices wouldn't I? I am a real noobie when it comes to Bluetooth.

That is correct. Your phone is one. Usually, a laptop or a desktop with a bluetooth device.

I think you are right. This phone is too new but given time, BitPim should support it soon enough.

Would I need Syncing software to get to the folders on the phone? I seem to remember that I needed some software from Verizon to do that.

The software that VZW sells you is for syncing the music only.

If you want to transfer ringtones, wallpapers, etc., you still need something like BitPim.

They say they need a phone to develop bitpim to work with U-740's and are actively looking for some company to do that.

I have bitpim and used it with my LG. Switched phones to the Samsung, got a data cable and now bitpim says the U-740is not supported.

Do you know of another program that will do for the U-740 what bitpim does?

Can or will Verizon donate a phone? Or Samsung? I'll do the work, but who would I have to contact at either company to get a phone donated to bitpim?

Maybe try using QPST.
