Samsung SCH-u700 "GLEAM" Pre Release

Samsung SCH-U700 Gleam is a slim EV-DO clamshell in gold color. The combination with grey glossy surface definitely makes it look good and on the front are situated the camera lens, small external display and touch-controls for the music capabilities.

Verizon Wireless is getting close to the launch of the Samsung Gleam SCH-U700 in early October. We were provided these new pictures of the phone, which shows it to have a glossy mirror-like finish all over. The U700 will feature a 2MP Camera, QVGA Internal Display, External Music Controls, MicroSD card slot, and new Themes. After the U700, the U900 (replacement of the A990) is expected to be released by the end of December, which will have a 3MP Autofocus Camera.

Even though not one of the 4 "holiday phones" that Verizon has been marketing, the Samsung GLEAM u700 also appeared on the Verizon Testman site today. The Gleam is a flip phone that features a 240x320 Pixel 262K QVGA internal display, 2MP Camera, MP3 and WMA Music Playback with front touch-sensitive controls, Stereo speakers, MicroSD Card Slot supporting up to 4GB, VCast Video & Music, VZ Navigator, and Bluetooth. The dimensions of the phone are 3.88"H x 1.91"W x 0.55"D and has a weight of 3.35 oz.

The Gleam is expected to go on sale this Oct 5th, with a Price of $149.99 on a 2 year contract (after a $50 mail in rebate).
