MicroSD card issue - maybe

I installed a 2gig card into my phone about 5 days ago. For the last two days i have had windows media player pop up with a message stating that a new card has been installed. the message asks if i would like to scan the card for media files, etc. it does it randomly through out the day. It has not done it while the phone has been in use. only when it has been holstered. I closed down the media player thinking that would it would stop but no joy lol. any thoughts or suggestions would be great.
