Samsung SCH-U470 "JUKE" Pre Release

This is the upcoming Samsung SCH-U470, which will be sold by Verizon sometime in first half of 2008. This is Samsung's first entry into the Music Phone category, which has been dominated by the two LG Chocolate phones (VX8500, VX8550).

Even the silver scroll-wheel on the U470 looks surprisingly similar to the one used on the VX8550. The size and weight of the U470 was not provided, but by looking at the picture, it appears not to be as wide as the Chocolate, but will be taller. Unfortunately, the Display Resolution is limited to only 128x200 Pixels. The U470 also features a camera (we are unsure as to how many Mega-Pixels it will be), MicroSD Card Slot, Stereo Bluetooth, and also new FlashUI Themes.

Even though the Samsung U470 is not due out until 2008, we now know it will be called "Juke" and know how to operate the phone, thanks to images posted on Engadget.

The U470 is a swivel phone that is Samsung's response to the popular LG chocolate series. It will feature the same type of scroll wheel that is currently being used on the VX8550 Chocolate and will come with a 1.3MP Camera. But with the LG VX8800 also coming out next year, we are unsure as to how many people will choose the U470 over the VX8800.

This phone will be available for Pre-Order on Oct 9, and will have a Release Date of Oct 19. Today, we found out that Pricing will be $99.99 with a 2-year Contract (with no rebate), since the phone has made an appearance on the Verizon's Testman web site.

The latest release date for Juke is 10/21/07.

There will be 3 colors available - Teal, Red, and Navy Blue.
