Resolving Windows Device Manager conflicts - Samsung Sway (SCH-u650)
Windows 2000 / XP
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
Windows Vista
  • Start Device Manager:
    Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
For detailed instructions, refer to Opening Windows Device Manager.
The following devices are normally installed:
Modems: SAMSUNG CDMA Modem Ports (COM & LPT): SAMSUNG CDMA Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM) (COM x) Universal Serial Bus controllers: SAMSUNG USB Composite Device
If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.

If a conflict is present:
  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing V CAST Music with Rhapsody from a CD-ROM - Windows for further assistance.
    If the device drivers are installed and a driver conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software....
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver...
  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
  4. Enter C:\Program Files\Samsung\Drivers(x) into the search window then click Next.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
  5. Click Close.
    If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
