For some reason, Motorola 325i is not one of the phones that Bitpim support so if you are using it as a different phone, chances are you may not be able to use all the functions.

Default Try Nextpimp

Try Nextpimp (http://www.nextpimp.com). There is software on the site as well. The site caters to Nextel Users, but Nextel is primarily Motorola phones. The software is actually pretty easy to use.

I just purchased a Motorola V325i the other day and have been trying to figure out how to download new ringtones ever since. I went back to the Verizon store and bought a USB cable and the Mobile Office kit that the rep there recommended. He also highly recommended BitPim as a free download that would help with loading info, such as ringtones, into my phone.

I downloaded BitPim, installed the Mobile Office software, and I STILL can't get anything to work. BitPim doesn't have my phone listed in their settings. BitPim also doesn't recognize my phone being connected to my computer. I think the reason is because the only port it is finding is my modem - not any USB ports. However I can't find any way to tell it to see the USB ports rather than the modem.

The bottom line is this - do you have any recommendations for me? Is there any way to get this to work? If there isn't, I'm ok with uninstalling and returning the USB cable and software and just living with the ringtones I have. I would just like to try all of my options before giving up.

Thanks for any advice!!!

LG VX8300 seems to be a phone that is supported by BimPim.

http://bitpim.org/help/

Have you tried downloading the latest version? Perhaps the older version didn't support it.

The latest version is dated 11/2/07 - 1.0.3.20071102

Default LG VX9800 with MSKLG-4 Cable

I can't get BitPIM to even recognize my phone, I think it's the data cable, but I'm not positive. I tried the COM port options, but neither of them worked. Has anyone got it to work with that cable? Thanks
