Default How to get out of your Verizon Contract

This is legal but not so ethical way of getting out of your long term Verizon contract.

We are not recommending it or endorsing it but simply reporting that legally it's possible.

Starting in March, Verizon is hiking the monthly fee by $0.30, which constitutes a material change of your contract, allowing you to break it with no penalty.

That's an interesting point. Since they are the one who "broke" the contract first, gives you the right to get out of the broken contract.

I still like Verizon and my phone. I don't think I'll use this to get out and switch to another service provider.

Actually, the contract language says that taxes and surcharges may vary. The regulatory and administrative charges are not part of the contract and therefore, nothing has been broken. The statement that Verizon and the customer sign off on states that the customer is responsible for paying all taxes and surcharges that may apply. It does not state that the specific amounts may not change.

I know a few months ago verizon raised there rates for text messaging from .10 to .15 and if you did NOT have a text messaging plan you could cancel your account with NO ETF. If you did not agree with the rate change. I talked to the Corp Office of verizon about this and they agreed with this. BUT since i was on a texting plan that was not going up it would not affect me at all. This was only for people with NO Texting Plan and just being charged PER TEXT.

I don't have a text plan but I don't plan to use the loop hole to get out of my contract.

Despite my "rants", I'm a happy Verizon customer who's been with Verizon for a very long time and will continue to be a Verizon customer. (That's why I run this website)

My "rants" are not to discourage others from becoming the Verizon customers but to make Verizon a better company and if they are reading this website, give them a chance to hear what the customers complain about - whether it's legitimate or just mis-informed.
