Default How to use V Cast Music Monitor

USING V CASTSM MUSIC MONITOR
V CAST Music Monitor runs on your computer and monitors removable media devices to ensure that the music files copied to the media can be correctly recognized and played by the V CAST Music player on your Verizon Wireless phone. It notifies you when an incompatible music filename has been detected and recommends an alternate filename along with the ability to fix the filename with a single click.
For V CAST Music Monitor to function properly, your media (such as Trans Flash and Mini SD cards) must be accessible by your computer. One way to accomplish this is to insert the card into a local USB media reader/adapter.
Main System Tray Menu
Once V CAST Music Monitor is installed on your computer, you will see the following system tray icon: .
Single-clicking on the icon will reveal the application's main menu.
Explanation of Menu Items:
  • Check My Media - Select this option to scan
your attached media for incompatible filenames
    (as described in the introduction).
  • Preferences... - Select this option to open the
    application's Preference catalog. Double-clicking
the system tray icon itself will have the same effect.
  • Launch V CAST Music - This option opens
    Windows Media Player and automatically
connects to V CAST Music Online Store.
  • V CAST Music HomePage - This option takes
you to the Verizon Wireless home page.

  • Verizon Wireless Home Page - This option
takes you to the Verizon Wireless home page.
  • Help... - Launches this help file.

  • About V CAST Music Tool... - Opens a dialog
with basic information on the V CAST Music
    Monitor application.
  • Exit - Permanently exit V CAST Music Monitor.

Explanation of Options:

  • Automatically check my media - Will automatically scan detected media (such as Trans Flash or Mini SD Cards, on by default).
  • Automatically rename incompatible filenames - Will automatically correct the incompatible filenames. (Off by default.)
  • Hide status window - Will keep the red/black status window from appearing near your system tray. (Off by default.)
  • Run at Windows Startup - Controls whether V CAST Music Monitor runs automatically at startup. (On by default.)
  • View Log - Brings up the summary of filenames corrected recently.
  • Clear Log - Clears the log of past correction information.

PREFERENCES/UPDATES
Explanation of Updates:

  • Update this software Manually - Allows you to control if and when the V CAST Music Monitor is updated.
  • Update this software Automatically - Allows all application updating to be handled automatically.
  • Check for updates - Allows you to select whatever interval you prefer for application updating.
  • Update Now - Allows you to check for an application update immediately.

FILE CONFIRMATION
When V CAST Music Monitor is running and it detects an incompatible filename, you will see one of the following two messages above your system tray:

...if "Automatically rename incompatible filenames" is unchecked.
...if "Automatically rename incompatible filenames" is checked.

These message boxes can be hidden by clicking on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner. Clicking on the message boxes will bring up the following dialog:

The application shows you its recommended new name for each incompatible filename.
Explanation of Options:
Rename All - Click this button to accept all the filename corrections.
Close - Click this button to close the window.
Log - Clicking on Options/View Log opens a window showing a history of filenames that have been renamed.

Default Where can I find the Music Monitor?

I have been scouring the web for MONTHS trying to find this application. I have it on my old laptop, but cannot find the original exe.

It appears the existing Music Monitor at Verizon's site is a different app, and does not 'fix' the file names.

Can anyone point me to the original exe? I can't find it anywhere! Have been going out of my mind trying to find a way to easily fix these file names from my flashcard, without needing to plug it into my old laptop.
