I don't understand. Why would Verizon put out a phone like this when the competition is putting out the latest and the greatest to win new customers and steal customers away from other carriers?

This will be called UTStarcom CDM-8905.

I'm venturing a bet that it will not sell more than 50K at best.

They have the galls to charge $19.99 with 2 year contact. They should be giving this away for free and people won't take it.
